Dr. Gary W. Ballard began as the new Director/Principal of Trinity Christian Academy on January 5, 2009. He has served as Principal, Teacher and Coach at East Lamar Elementary School; as Math and Science Teacher and Coach at Crockett Junior High School; as Mathematics Teacher at North Lamar High School, as Mathematics Teacher and Adult Education Teacher at Paris High School; and as Secondary Principal and Math Teacher at Prairiland High School.
Since his retirement from full time public education in 1999 he has been teaching part time at Paris Junior College as an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics and is the immediate past President of the Paris Junior College Alumni and Friends Association. He is certified by the state of Texas as a teacher, Principal, and Superintendent.
Dr. Ballard is a past President of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, the Kiwanis Club of Paris, and the Breakfast Optimist Club of Paris. He is also a past Lt. Governor of Kiwanis International, Division 32. He is past moderator of the Red River Valley Baptist Association.
Dr. Ballard loves to write as a hobby and has written numerous poems throughout the years. His poems are published in anthologies throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Ballard is married to Gwen, who is a former teacher. They are members of First Baptist Church where he is the immediate past Chairman of Deacons. The Ballard’s children and their families include Tim and Ginger Stone of Powderly and grandchildren Tyler Stone and Erin Stone, Grant and Phyllis Ballard of Deport and step grandson Brandon Buchanan, and Geramy Ballard of Paris.
Dr. Ballard applied for a part time math position with Trinity and ended up being the Director. “The Lord works in mysterious ways” to accomplish his purposes. Dr. Ballard is proud to be a part of the Trinity family.
