My name is Mike Segleski and I will be teaching 7th - 12th grade social studies this year at Trinity Christian Academy. After graduating from Clarksville High School, I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from East Texas State University in Commerce. Later I earned my Masters of Education Degree from Stephen F. Austin University.
During my 35 years working in public school education, I served as social studies teacher and football coach at Yorktown, Forney, Rockwall, and Hallsville High Schools. I was the Athletic Director, Head Football coach, and Assistant Principal at Comfort High School and later taught and coached at Quitman High School. The last 10 years of my career, was spent at Dripping Springs High School teaching World Geography and serving as the Defensive Coordinator on the Tiger football team.
My wife, Tena and I both retired from public education in 2007 and returned to the area where we grew up. We live in Powderly and attend Bounds Baptist Church where I serve on the church board. Tena and I also serve on several church committees.
We have two sons, Mike Jr. and his wife Melissa who are both educators at Howe ISD. They have two daughters Kaylah and Kasie. Our son Matt and his wife Rikki live in Melissa with their three children Krisjon, Kaden, and Kenzie. We love spending time with our grandchildren, gardening, fishing, and traveling.
I am excited and looking forward to another successful year at Trinity. I feel blessed to work and be a part of the Trinity Family since 2008.
